Artist Statement:
For this project I did a linoleum print of the hamsa hand. The hamsa symbol is used mostly by Middle Eastern and North African culture to ward off and protect from evil. I started by cutting the linoleum and drawing my own version of the symbol. Then I carved it out leaving only my original lines. I then watercolored paper in different color schemes and printed my design on them. Im very happy with the finished product they turned out exactly how I had envisioned them and I really enjoyed working on this project.
